Magic Needles Quilt Guild "Learning Block"

Members of the Magic Needles Quilt Guild began their first "Learning Block" of the Mystery Quilt series.   Monica Rodarmer is instructing us in making a series of blocks that will later be put together into a Quilt.   Only Monica knows what the Quilt is?!!   The great reveal will be at our annual Holiday Party in December.

Our first block was a large centerpiece block of a 32 blade Dresden Plate.    Come to our next meeting and join in our fun!

Send Off For Gwen

The Magic Needle Quilt Guild surprised Gwen Flynn on Friday, July 7 with a very special send off for her last chemo treatment for leukemia (although the treatment was postponed).    Members paper pieced orange ribbon blocks.   Linda Pelletier sewed the blocks together and created a variegated orange piano key border.   Charmaine Ireland long armed this beautiful quilt with a cancer ribbon all over design.   Alice Baird made an uplifting label.   Signs were made, balloons blown and masks donned for a surprise presentation to Gwen.   A Great Group effort to Support one of our own!

Learn a Block - June 2017 MNQG Meeting

LEARN A BLOCK
Magic Needle Quilt Guild had its first "Learn A Block" session on June 8, 2017.   Our block was the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Block.   Monica Rodarmer led us in paper piecing this block.    What a great time we had sewing for charity together. 

Blocks created from our first "Lean A Block" session.   Blocks will be assembled into a quilt for charity.
